WooCommerce Store Launch Checklist: What to Prepare Before Going Live

Before launching a WooCommerce store, test the full shopping journey. This checklist covers products, payments, delivery, mobile checkout, order emails and essential policies.

A store is ready to launch when customers can find a product, understand the offer, complete checkout and receive clear order information. Work through the whole journey before announcing the site, including a test order on a phone.

Prepare useful product information

Check product names, descriptions, prices, variations, stock status, photographs and delivery details. Use consistent image sizes and make sure customers can tell similar products apart. If a product has important limitations or requirements, explain them before checkout.

Test payments and delivery settings

Confirm that the payment methods you plan to offer are configured and tested in the correct mode. Review shipping zones, delivery charges and the locations you serve. Check tax settings with a qualified adviser when you are unsure; tax rules depend on where your business operates and what it sells.

Complete a real checkout test

  • Add a product to the cart and change the quantity.
  • Enter a valid address and confirm the delivery options shown.
  • Test checkout on mobile, including form validation and payment.
  • Confirm that the customer and store receive the right order emails.
  • Check what happens when a payment fails or an item is unavailable.

Review trust and support information

Publish accurate contact details, delivery and returns information, privacy information and terms suitable for your business. Make it easy for a customer to ask a question before or after an order. Keep administrator accounts secure and confirm that backups can be restored.

Plan for after launch

Assign someone to monitor orders, update products, review failed payments and maintain WordPress, WooCommerce and extensions. Keep records of the accounts and renewals the store depends on.

Prepare customer support before opening

Set a monitored email address for order questions and make sure someone knows how to find an order, update its status and respond to a refund request. Review the wording of confirmation emails so customers know what they bought, what happens next and how to contact you.

Check the store on different devices

Review product photos, variation selectors, cart totals, coupon fields and checkout buttons on a phone. Confirm that validation messages are readable and customers can correct mistakes without losing their information. Test keyboard navigation through essential checkout fields where possible, and ensure that order confirmation is clear after payment.
